Topix Community Comments: Who is moderating?
Posted in General Social Media Info on July 7th, 2008 by Christopher Anthony SalazarLike many others, I try to keep up with the latest social media tools out there. Following Jeremiah and Scoble can be difficult…but its fun no doubt. I’ve heard some interesting things about topix.
So, I take a look at the POPULAR tab on topix and the number 4 most popular is an article titled: More Mexicans Leaving US Under Duress
I click on the article and instead of seeing the full page article, Im routed to their comment list of 327…here are some of the comments:
Good…it’s better illegal alien Mexicans leaving the USA under “duress” than U.S. citizens subsidizing their illegal presence here “UNDER DURESS.”
Like FOZBOT said, “Buh-Bye!!” Don’t let the door hit ya on the ass on your way out!
Oh boo hoo…they are under such duress…did they give a fig about the duress they caused the Americans whose jobs they stole? Did they care about the duress that classroom teachers felt in their over-crowded classes when illegals’ kids started streaming in?
Now, this is not a racial battle. But, I definitely DO NOT LIKE THE RACIST COMMENTS. I am a proud Mexican and I’d like to speak up for the majority of us that we are here to stay. Just like with any other nationality theres some bad and some good, but please do not stereotype.
I understand the concept of being open and allowing all comments…but sometimes you have to draw a line…
TOPIX WHERE ARE YOUR MODERATORS? YOU NEED TO STEP UP AND FIGURE OUT IF THESE TYPE OF COMMENTS SHOULD BE ALLOWED…SERIOUSLY…DO SOMETHING NOW BEFORE IT GETS UGLY
